Clear Scraps 12×12 Acrylic LO — Find Your Direction

Hi all!  It's Laura here with you today!  I hope you've been enjoying all of the

amazing inspiration here on the blog!  Clear Scraps has so many unique products

that you can have a lot of fun playing with.  One of my faves is their 12×12 Acrylic

Sheets.  I've got a scrapbook page for you today created on one of these!

What makes these acrylic sheets one of my favorite ways to scrap?  You can use a

lot of fun mediums on them.  Sure you can use them on paper too, but sometimes

when you do mixed media products on regular cardstock, you can get warping

and wrinkling.  That NEVER happens on an acrylic sheet!  It's a perfect canvas

for texture paste, alcohol inks, paints, you can even stamp on them with a

StazOn ink!  In this LO, I used texture paste and the 4×6 Brick Wall background

stencil that's available from Clear Scraps.

I just randomly laid the stencil on the page and spread the paste through

the stencil with a pallet knife.  I left it dry really well over night just to be

sure.  If you use other mediums (like inks) drying is pretty quick, but

these are fun if you want to try something new.  Just a little patience

required!  So the next day, I went over the stencils "bricks" with some

distress inks to add depth and interest.  Soft blue and gray are the

colors I used to mimic the water background.  You could easily do

any color, like a red and brown to match an old building, or anything

that would match a picture you have.  The bricks reminded me of the

old lighthouses we have seen at the beach, so I also added the Clear Scraps

Lighthouse Chipboard Embellishment

It's just painted with gray, white and black acrylic paint, then

brushed with a little ink around the edges, then glued to the LO.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope you will give the

12×12 Acrylic Sheets and some of the fun Clear Scraps stencils a try!
