Clear Scraps Witches Hat Shaker — Birthday Witches Card

Hey there everybody!! Laura here today! Have you ever tried using acrylic to

create a card? I have one to share with you today with some fun techniques too!

In the picture you can see the light shine through on the right.

I wanted to make sure you could see the cool effect of the acrylic!

This is the acrylic piece with the alcohol inks applied. It's a unique

background, no two turn out the same! Fun to watch as you dab

the colors on the acrylic piece! And the cardstock color you choose

to go behind it will change the look like you can see in this photo:

I created this cute shaker by painting the top layer with black acrylic

paint, and while it dried, I traced the shape out of some purple distressed

looking patterned paper, then cut it out and glued it to the base piece. I glued

on the other layers, but before I glued on the acrylic layer and the top painted

frame, I added a few sequins and beads, then I tied on a little ribbon bow.

The sentiment I printed off my computer and trimmed it into a banner,

then matted it and used foam tape to adhere it to the card front.

If you look closely, there IS a little more to that front acrylic piece.

The random black damask pattern was created using the Clear Scraps

6" Damask stencil. It's a nice touch for a Halloween card, I added

just a bit here and there using some black chalkboard paint for a

nice matte effect, and then the edges were brushed using the same

paint, applied using a foam brush.
