Vintage Recipe Album

Hi Crafty Friends!

Dana here. I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps Blog today, with a vintage style recipe album. Clear Scraps has such a variety of different albums to choose from. I'm using the Chipboard 8×8 Tabbed Album for my project. You can find it here Click Here

I also used Graphic45 "Home Sweet Home" papers and chipboard and stickers to match up with my vintage theme.

First I painted all the edges of each album page with vintage white acrylic paint. Let dry throughly before moving on to the next step.

Next I chose 2 red checked papers and cut down to 7x 71/2 inches. Adhere to the front and back pages of your album. Cover all remaining base pages of your album with coordinating papers of your choice. All papers were cut to the same size as previously stated above.

Now you can start decorating the front cover of you album. I cut another patterned paper to 61/2 x 7 inches added some foam dots to the back of the paper. Then adhere on top of your base of your front cover. I chose one of journaling cards and adhered to the right side of my front cover. I added one of the chipboard stickers "Farm fresh " on the top part of my album. Fussy cut out a few of the vegetable stamps, and adhered to the left side of  my album using foam dots. I also fuzzy cut another image of the vintage gal, inked the edges with Distress Ink and used foam dots to adhere her on top of the same image on the journaling card. I like to add touches of glitter to the vintage gal apron, farm fresh chipboard sign and on some of the vegetable stamps. To finish the cover, I glued a vintage button on one of the corners of the journaling card. And glued a paper flower on the left side.

Now we can decorate the inside pages. I used one of the larger recipe cards and adhered it slightly slanted on the left page. Cut out a "you are my sunshine " paper strip and glued to the bottom of my page. And added my fuzzy cut cabbage image with foam dots on the bottom of my recipe card. The right page,  I cut a paper at  7x 3 &1/2 inches and adhered as a pocket. You can add a few smaller journaling cards inside the pocket. I decorated the pocket page with a few vegetable packets and adhered with foam dots. Lastly I added the "Garden" sticker on the tabbed page.

The next two pages I used some larger recipe cards and a few chipboards and stickers to decorate my pages. The recipe card on the right page, I scored 1/2 inch at the top and adhered as a flap.

Here's how I decorated the next two pages. I made another pocket on the left side and tucked in acouple smaller journaling cards. These are great to add photos or perhaps a small recipe card. The page on the right side I adhered acouple recipe cards and a "Baking Day" sticker eith a touch of glitter on the pie to resemble sugar!

The last two pages, on the right side I chose 4 different recipe cards and scored 1/2 inch on the top. Adhered as a waterfall on to my page. You could add another recipe or photo under the waterfall cards.

For the last page on the right side, I cut down the tomatoe paper to 4 x 71/2 inches. Scored 1/2 on the left side to create a side flip page. I added foam dots to the vegetable frame and adhered this on the flip page, make sure you don't glue over the scored part of the flip page. Then I glued the "Home Sweet Home" chipboard piece in the middle of the frame. To finish my page I cut down a piece of white picket fence sticker, added some small foam dots to the back of the fence. Adhere this towards the bottom of your flip page. I fuzzy cut out some vegetables and vegetable seed packets, inked the edges and adhered some on the fence, some I tucked behind fence with foam dots.

To finish your album, I covered the remaining page tabs, front and back with some word stickers. Then I took 3 metal rings and attached all my pages together. I chose different bright colored ribbons and tied on each ring.
