Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello everyone!  It's Jennifer on the blog today sharing some fun, easy slimline cards I created using Clear Scraps products! Valentines Day is less than a month away so its not too early to get started on some of your own DIY cards! The slimline size is all the rage right now so I decided to incorporate them in to my project.  Each card is approximately 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.  I'm also going to show you the techniques I used! 

For my first card, the base is white cardstock that I cut 7 x 8 1/2 inches. I used my Scor-Pal to create a fold at 3 1/2 inches. I adhered a light pink dot background as well as a scalloped border from a die.

For my focal point, I used the Banner Heart Chipboard Embellishment Shape.   I painted the top piece using red chalk paint ensuring I covered all edges.  For the bottom heart base, I applied Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to adhere patterned paper.  I cut the excess with scissors followed by sanding the edges with my sanding tool. 

Next, taking the top portion of my chipboard embellishment, I applied embossing ink to the top surface. I then added red glitter embossing powder and set with heat. I was now ready to assemble my chipboard pieces together using the Beacon 3-in-1.  

Before adhering the Banner Heart Chipboard Embellishment, I stamped a sentiment onto the front of the card as well as added die cuts from the collection I used. 

I also added a couple tags to the top left corner securing them with a small staple. 

For my next card, I trimmed a sheet of the 12×12 Acrylic to 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 to act as the front cover of my card. I then cut a piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4 x 8 1/2, scoring at 1/2 inch to create a flap. 

At the top portion of the acrylic, I secured the 4×6 Hearts Stencil using washi tape. I then applied a thin layer of modeling paste using a spatula.  I did not worry about my paste being uniform as I wanted to have a bit of distressed look. Once my paste was dry, I added pink, blue, and red Distress Oxide Inks to the surface blending with a foam brush.

Here you can see the end result of the modeling paste + Distress Oxide. I love how the colors compliment each other! 

I was then ready to finish assembling my card as well as add coordinating die cuts and stickers.
