Valentine Love Desktop Frame

Hi Crafty Friends!

I'm back today with a decorative wood desktop frame project, just in time for Valentine's day! Clear Scraps has several different wood frames to chose from. Click Here

For today's project I chose Clear Scraps  Love wood frame to use for Valentine's day. I also used Crate paper "Main squeeze" collection.

First I took some red acrylic paint and a sponge brush, and painted the Love letters, front, back and around the sides. Let dry. I didn't paint the heart shapes or the two stands, because we will be covering those with papers. But you may paint yours if you like.

Next I chose two coordinating papers, traced and cut out both shapes. Don't forget to mark where  the slots are on each wood base.  Glue your papers to each base using Beacon 3 in 1 glue. Trim and distress all your edges. Use an exacto knife to cut a slit where the slots are. Make sure the top part of your frame fits securely into each slot before you glue both base pieces together. It should look like this.

Now take another coordinating paper and trace around your heart shape and cut out. Take your exacto knife and cut out the middle piece of the heart. Distress around the edges and trim as you did before. Then glue a photo or journaling card on the back of your heart with craft glue. Trim off any excess paper. Then glue your heart wood piece onto your frame.

Snap the top of your Love frame together. Then decorate with any embellishments you like. I used some Prima flowers, stickers and chipboard stickers to decorate my frame. I tucked a few hearts and pearls in between my flower petals. I added a mini heart charm and tied around the L letter with a piece of pink twine. Then I glued a few heart gems onto my vintage card image.
