Hello friends! It's Jennifer here on the blog today to share a layout I created using one of the new adorable Mini Shakers! There are so many different shapes to choose from as well as a few words! Summer is always packed full of fun memories and activities including days in the sun! The Shell Mini Shaker is a perfect accent to my photo of my niece jumping in the pool!
I began by backing the chipboard base of my shaker with patterned paper. I found its best to use a solvent based liquid adhesive such as Beacon 3-in-1. I then trimmed excess paper away using scissors followed by using a sanding tool to smooth edges.
Next, I painted the top chipboard frame as well as the edges of the two inside frames with chalk paint in Patina.
Using my Beacon adhesive, I adhered the two chipboard frames to the base. I then inserted Star Sprinkle Mix along with additional sequins to the center. Next, I adhered the acrylic piece followed by the top chipboard frame.
Here is the final result of my assembled shaker! I again used Beacon 3-in-1 to adhere the shaker to my page.
To give my background a pop of color, I used the 12×12 Spiral Mascil along with spray ink in yellow. This is a great technique to use if you usually use a solid color for your base page.
Here is a close up of the spray ink with the Mascil! I love how it turned out especially against the white cardstock! I added a cut file that I adhered behind my photo as well as used small die cuts and embellishments to accent.
