Hello everyone!! Laura here with you today to share a little springtime inspiration!
This sweet little home decor project starts with the Clear Wood Mason Jar Shape.
Oh am I in love with these 3 packs of wood shapes! There are several in the Clear Scraps
store. These are great to make multiples so you can give them as gifts (imagine all of
your crafty friends getting this cute little mason jar gift!), OR yes, you can keep them all
for yourself and create projects for different rooms, different holiday, whatever you'd like!
For this project, I started by tracing the jar onto patterned paper. Then I painted the jar lid
with gray acrylic paint. While it dried, I cut out the traced jar, and then glued it on. Next I
layered on the black cardstock and contrasting plaid, then I inked the entire jar (including
the lid) with black distress ink. Then it was time to embellish!
This is the Fancy Butterfly chipboard embellishment from Clear Scraps. It was painted
using aqua and terracotta acrylic paint (dabbed on to make a mottled look) and then to
make it look a little like a copper verdigris I used a bit of copper rubbing paste to gild it.
I also used the Vine Circle chipboard embellishment, painted with black acrylic paint.
Once everything was dry, it was layered together in the center of the jar.
The butterfly was popped up with some foam tape, and then a few flower
and heart stickers were added along with the word "create". Twine tied
around the top of the jar finished the project off.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to try out
the Clear Scraps Wood Shapes! You can find the jars and many more in
the store right HERE.
