Hola!
Tami here on the Clear Scraps' Blog today with a bonus project to share with you!
This month my projects each featured a simple new or different way to use Clear Scraps' products.
I kept the base supplies the same, so it would be easy to experiment with the ideas and techniques.
Today, I'll show you how to make a faux ceramic tile using a stencil and chipboard.
Ceramic Tiles come in many different styles, patterns and colors, but they can be expensive, and are too heavy for use on some projects.
Using chipboard for the "tile" will give you a similar look, but allow you to use the tile on projects that traditional ceramic tiles would be unsuitable for.
Here is the tile I made…
I used it to embellish a plain gray planter in my living room…

Making the tile was easy, and started with a piece of white chipboard and Clear Scraps' Fan Scroll Stencil…
Tape stencil to chipboard and then use embossing tool to add design…
Use your finger (best tool for this job) to lightly rub gel medium into design. Work QUICKLY! as it dries fast!
After gel medium has been applied, quickly, but carefully, remove stencil.
Apply base color of ink to chipboard. Dont press hard over embossed area, let applicator glide across it…
Apply touches of accent colors…
Spritz lighlty with water to activate inks; let dry…
Closeup of detail…
Cut tile to desired size and its ready to be incorporated into your project…
You could also make smaller tiles, or cut a larger one into smaller pieces, to embellish the edges of a frame or mirror.
I hope you enjoyed this project and will come back soon for more Great projects from the other Fabulous Clear Scraps' Designers!
