Hello and happy Friday! It's Jennifer here on the blog to share a layout I created using one of the brand new Mini Shakers! It's no doubt 2020 was a year to remember! I wanted to document about going back to work as a dental hygienist and thought the Heartbeat Mini Shaker would be a perfect accent! I began with laying out 3.75 to 4.25 inch squares to create a grid (one of my favorites to use for layouts). I did use my sewing machine to stitch around the inside edges of each square.
To assemble my shaker, I adhered patterned paper to the front of the chipboard base using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive. I cut away excess paper with scissors followed by using an x-acto knife to trim around the chipboard. Next, I smoothed rough edges using my sanding tool.
I then adhered my two middle chipboard frames together and adhered to the base (again using my Beacon adhesive).
I de-staticed the area using an embossing bag before adding my colored sequins shapes. Next, I adhered my acrylic piece over the top.
Using a chalk paint in mint green, I painted the top chipboard frame before adhering. Usually I would also paint the inside edges of the middle chipboard frames but I forgot! I realized I missed this step after I had my shaker together!
Here is the end result of the shaker! I adhered it to my page again using the Beacon 3-in-1 as well as added a sentiment over the bottom half.
I decorated each of my squares using die cuts and chipboard from the collection I used.
