Hi Crafty Friends!
It's Dana and I'm here to share a Slimline shaker card project. I'm sure you know how popular the Slimline cards are right now. So when I saw this new Shaker Fin from Clear Scraps, I could hardly wait to use it. You can find it here Click Here
My Slimline card measures: 7 & 1/4 x 8 & 1/4. Score @ 4 &3/8 inches. I used a plain white heavy cardstock. To decorate my card base, I used Frank Garcia's St. Tropaz paper and cut it to fit my card base, leaving 1/4 inch of white card showing around the edge. I added some foam dots to the back before adhering to my card. Then I cut one of the border papers to fit and added some foam dots to the back and adhered at the bottom of my card.
Set your card aside for now. Take out your shaker pieces. Take the back base piece and trace onto another paper of your choice and cut out. Take your Beacon 3 in 1 glue and adhere your paper to the shaker bottom piece. Then using an x-acto knife trim along the edge. Distress around the edges with Clear Scraps sanding stick. Click Here
Next I painted my top shaker piece using Spectrum Noir Sparkle paint Aquamarine. Be sure to paint around the sides of all shaker pieces except the acrylic piece. Let dry. Then glue the first two shaker pieces to your shaker base. Fill your shaker with sequins or whatever you prefer. For my project I used Clear Scraps Winter sequins pack but I omitted the red sequins. You can find them Click Here.
Then peel the protective film off both sides of the acrylic shaker piece before gluing. Add your top shaker piece to finish. Set aside and let dry throughly before shaking! I know it's hard not to shake!
Now take your card and plan out how you want to decorate it along with any embellishments you wish to use. I chose to take one of the journaling cards to use for my sentiment. I used a scalloped die to cut out my sentiment shape. Added foam dots to the back and adhered in the upper right corner of my card. Added a chipboard foil heart and puffy stickers to the edge of my sentiment. I glued my shaker Finn piece to the left side of my card and slanted it slightly. I added a small flower to the bottom of my shaker Finn. Fuzzy cut out a little turtle, metal anchor and a few clear enamel dots.
I hope you enjoyed my card project today. Thanks for stopping by the Clear Scraps blog! Hope I have inspired you! Don't forget to check out the Clear Scraps website for all your crafting supplies.Click Here
