Balloon Mini Shaker Layout

Hello and happy Friday!  It's a holiday weekend here in the US which means a longer weekend for most of us!  I love celebrating with family and this includes special milestones like birthdays!  I created a layout using the new Balloon Mini Shaker Shape and will show you the techniques I used.

I painted the front surface of the top chipboard frame of my shaker. I then used my Beacon Adhesive to adhere the two middle chipboard frames together. I  used the same paint to cover the edges of the frames. I set them aside to dry to work on decorating the base.

Again using my Beacon Adhesive, I adhered patterned paper to the front of my chipboard base. I trimmed away excess using scissors as well as an x-acto knife. I  followed up with a sanding tool to smooth any rough edges.

Next, I adhered my two middle chipboard frames as shown.  Before adding my chunky glitter, I used an embossing bag to de-static the area.  I then adhered my acrylic piece applying adhesive to the chipboard.  After I was happy with placement, I used clips to hold my shaker together to ensure a good seal.

I  dabbed the front chipboard frame with embossing ink followed by using a bright blue embossing powder.  I had thought about doing a light pink but thought the blue would be a better contrast.  After the powder was set, I adhered it to the shaker with my Beacon Adhesive.

And here is a close up of my shaker assembled!  Using a solvent based liquid adhesive is usually best to adhere the shakers to your projects.

I added smaller stickers as well as brads and enamel dots to accent around my photo. You can also see I  stamped the date as well as added a sentiment. (I  have hoarded a large collection of roller stamps!)
