Hi there everyone! Laura is here with you today, ready to make a splash with some
cool summer decor using the adorable XL Wood Flip Flops from Clear Scraps!
Who needs a little summer fun decor? Or maybe you have a pool and want to hang a fun
sign to decorate the area or by the entrance? Summer is all about sunshine, fun, and
of course, flip flops! These jumbo XL Wood pieces from Clear Scraps are so fun to
decorate up! I used acrylic paint in a fun bright blue color that was a great match
for the paper collection that I was using for this project.
Then I painted the straps in a deeper blue color for a nice contrast. Both shades were
in the patterned paper I was using. It's easy to pick your shades for these types of
projects when you use the embellishments or paper you'll use as a guide. I added
the "title" of my project and also a couple of cute little flowers to dress up the flip flops
just a bit. You could use rhinestones, enamel dots, a lot of things to dress them up!
In the bottom right corner, I used a couple of journal boxes, matted them onto
white cardstock for a nice contrast, and then added some stickers for a fun touch.
The little awning on the top was created by folding a pretty piece of paper about 1/4"
back to "pop-up" the piece of paper and using a paper punch to create the scallop.
With it's bright cheerful colors and cute little stickers, it's perfect for summertime!
But if you'd rather create for another season, or for every day decor, make sure to
