Hi Crafty Friends!
My name is Dana and I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today to share another project. Have you seen all the new Slimline albums from Clear Scraps? I love creating albums for myself and give as gifts to my special friend's and family.
Today for this project we'll be using Clear Scraps Slimline Chipboard tab album Click Here and as a fun embellishment, I'm using Clear Scraps House shaker Click Here
Start by removing your house shaker pieces from your package. Paint the top shaker piece with any acrylic paint you prefer. I'm using a copper color paint. Set aside to dry. While that dries, choose a patterned paper or journaling card to decorate the back shaker piece. Trace around your piece using a pencil. Adhere with glue to the shaker base. I prefer using Beacon 3 in 1 glue. It's strong and work well with chipboard. Trim with x-acto knife around the edge. Smooth around all edges with distress or sanding tool.
Now glue your next two chipboard shaker pieces onto your bottom base. Fill your shaker with sequins, beads or glitter. For my project I chose Clear Scraps fall sequins. The colors are so pretty! Next peel off the protective film from both sides of your acrylic shaker piece, and glue on top of your previous layer. Then adhere the top painted piece. Set aside to throughly dry before shaking!
Now we can start covering our album with patterned papers. I'm using Paige Evans "Bunkalow Lane" collection to decorate this album. All base papers will measure 5×11 inches, the size of this album. Make sure to mark and punch all holes along the side of your album, before adhering them with glue. The tab areas I left bare for now. We can decorate those with other sentiment phases as we go along.
To decorate the front cover, I adhered my shaker house towards the bottom of my album with Beacon 3 in 1 glue. I took some "Welcome" sentiment stickers and adhered diagonally across my album cover. Added a few epoxy sticker leaves and chipboard heart XO sticker on my chimney of my shaker house. I cut some hearts from a border piece and glued to the tab front.
Page 1: Created a pocket measuring 5×4 &1/2 inches, punched my hole and adhered to my page. I added some rick rack trim to the top of my pocket and a few puffy sticker buttons. Tucked a journaling card inside my pocket and a sentiment phase on the tab area.
Page 2: Adhered some chipboard flag stickers along the top, added a photo mat, using leftover paper, measuring 4×6 inches and a white mat measuring 3 & 1/4 x 5 &1/2 inches. Added a sentiment on the bottom of my photo mat, some more chipboard stickers and border to the tabbed area.
Page 3: I created a flip up piece using one of the journaling cards, 4×6, perfect for adding a photo. Then scored 1/2 inch at the top before adhering to my page. Added a epoxy sticker heart on top. Took the cute camera ephermera piece, added foam dots to the back and adhered at the bottom of my album page.
Page 4: 4×6 patterned paper photo mat, white mat measures 3 1/4 x 5 inches. I added a chipboard leaf sticker at the top. Fussy cut a "falling in love" leaf sentiment. Adhered with foam dots at the bottom of the page.
Page 5: Photo mat 4 x 4 &1/2 patterned paper, white mat measures 3 x 3 & 1/4 inches. Adhered a few puffy sticker hearts and star in upper right corner. Adhered a heart border at the bottom of my page. Took a ephermera card and adhered at the top with foam dots. Added a cute little bird paper clip on my journaling card.
Page 6: Created another pocket 5x 4 1/2 inches. Punched my bottom hole and adhered to the page. Tucked a few ephemera cards inside my pocket. Added a sentiment from my ephermera pack to my pocket with foam dots. Took a Thankful ephermera tag and adhered at the top with a puffy sticker button!
For my last two pages I added a chipboard house sticker in the middle of the page, added a ephermera chair with foam dots on the left. Glued the cat on top of the chair. Plant epoxy sticker on the side. Took the "Comforts of Home" sentiment from the ephermera pack, and adhered at the top using foam dots!
Final page: photo mat 4x 6 inches, white photo mat 3 & 1/4 x 5 inches on top. Chipboard sticker sentiments at the top and along the bottom right below my photo mat. Add a epoxy sticker coffee cup to finish my page.
To finish my album, I threaded some gold ribbon through the holes of the album and tied them into a bow!
