Clear Scraps Project Post

Hey everyone!  Who's ready for the holidays?  It's time to get those gifts and cards in

order if you haven't gotten there yet!  I'm sharing a two in one project for a little

inspiration today using one of the Clear Scraps Mini Shakers!

Who wouldn't love to get this pretty holiday card but better yet–there's a great

ornament included as a gift!  The Clear Scraps Mini Bulb Shaker was used to

 create an ornament to hang on the tree!  The ornament was painted black and

the top of the ornament brushed with silver metallic wax paste. 

I traced the back of the ornament on some pretty paper and put it all together using

the Clear Scraps Holiday Sequins (I did pick some of the green out).  I punched a hole

using the larger tabletop crop o dile and some elbow grease, but you could punch each

layer as you go too.  A bit of twine, a touch of ribbon and a few stickers finished it off.

To create the card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to a length of 9&1/2" by 5&1/2".

The 9&1/2" length is scored at 4&1/4", 4&1/2", 8&3/4" and finally 9".  This will give

the card a slight (1/4") gusset or box fold so it has the room to hold the ornament.  I

punched a decorative edge along the one side, but you could leave it plain, add ribbon

etc. On the front of the card, I wanted to add a clear acrylic window to show off that

pretty ornament! So I made a 3&1/4 by 4&1/2" window in the white cardstock.

Super easy to do using my trimmer.

Here I had glued the acrylic "window" in place after the "icicles" (some nuvo glitter glue)

had dried.  It's glued to the back of the frame, and then I cut a piece of paper to cover

the frame both front and back.  You can find acrylic sheets in the Clear Scraps store HERE. 

The inside of the card was covered with a buffalo plaid patterned paper, then the card

was tied shut using some twine with a jingle bell accent added as a final touch.
