Winter XL Wood Gnome

Hello craft friends!  It's Jennifer here on the blog today to share a project with you all about winter! Truth be told, I like to scrapbook about winter much more winter itself.  Living in the Midwest, there isn't much to do outdoors in the cold and snow!  I'm more of a warm weather and sunshine girl!

The XL Wood Gnome 2 is perfect for dressing up for just about any theme or holiday!  I used a bright winter theme for my Gnome to decorate the area next to our fireplace!

Using chalk paint in a light blue, I painted the hands and nose of the Gnome and set aside to dry.

I also used the same color of paint to color the feet of my gnome as shown. I did not worry about my lines being perfect as I knew I would be covering part of the body with patterned paper.

While my paint dries, I used my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to affix patterned paper to the front of my hat and to the body of the gnome.  I used my x-acto knife and sanding tool to smooth any excess paper away.

I  used the Wood Holiday Collection 3 Pack to have pieces to switch out on the front of the Gnome.  I painted the front of the Snowflake with chalk paint in the same light blue chalk paint.

I then added embossing ink around the edges followed by a blue metallic embossing powder.

Here is the end result of the Snowflake. I added embellishments from the collection I used and affixed it to the Gnome with velcro for easy removal.

I  covered the Tree using patterned paper and my Beacon Adhesive.  I then added a light coat of white acrylic paint the edges followed by using circular embellishments.

Last is an ornament which I layered with washi tape.  I used my sanding tool to smooth excess off the edges followed by adding paint in light blue around the edges.

I covered the two oval bases with patterned paper and affixed them together with my hot glue gun. I did add a little extra glue to the slots where the feet insert for sturdiness.

On the hat, I added pink and black ribbon as well as embellishments to the brim for accent.
