Clear Scraps XL Wood Gnome–Lucky Leprechaun

Hi there everyone!!  Laura here to share a little St. Patrick's Day

decor piece with you!  Who loves a cute leprechaun?!!

This is created using the Clear Scraps XL Wood Gnome (#1 version).

These guys are so versatile!  And I love that you can glue them into

the base OR you can leave them so you can pull the it out of the base

and store it flat!  I could see having a whole little collection of these

cuties for all the different holidays!!  They are simple to create too!

You can use paper, paint, stencils, all sorts of options.  I used a mix

of paper and paint for this cutie.  The beard is a great place to start!

I thought I'd share the layering process I used to create

the beard.  It starts with just a base of orange paint.

Next up was to start to add some depth and texture.

I used streaks of brown paint.  Looks kinda terrible right?!

This is just lightly brushed on to create streaks, and then

painted over in another lighter orange.  I keep playing with

the blend adding a little here and there until I get a look I like.

I love the nice color variations in here!  And then

to the rest of the project–I painted the body/outfit

green, shoes black, and the little nose and hands a

softy peachy color.  I used distress ink in either brown

or black around all the edges.  The hat and the top of

the base were traced and cut out of paper.  I added a

few simple touches using stickers, and enamel dots,

and also one of the Clear Scraps Shakers!

It's the perfect size for the gnome to hold!  It's the Mini Shaker

Mason Jar and it's just painted and decorated with a few

stickers, sequins and a little bow to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope this

project inspires you to make your own little

lucky leprechaun!  Happy St. Patty's!
