Hi Crafty Friends!
I'm Dana and I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog with a Vintage Tags project to share. I love creating tags for my crafty friends! Clear Scraps tags are sturdy and so fun to decorate. Click Here We will also be using these cute Clear Scraps chipboard embroidery hoops Click Here
I chose to make only 3 tags from the pack, since I used my other tag for a previous project.
Start by cutting apart both chipboard embroidery hoops. Save the outer frame for a future project. Paint the top with gold acrylic paint. For the hoop I used a vintage parchment acrylic paint. Set them aside to dry.
Next trace around your chipboard tag shapes onto your papers. The paper collection I'm using is Frank Garcia's new "Meil" collection. Cover both front and back and make sure to punch your holes at the top before gluing. I recommend using a strong permanent glue like Beacon 3 in 1.
Now we'll begin creating Tag 1:
Cut out another patterned paper at 3 & 1/2 x 5 inches and adhere towards the top and onto your base paper using foam tape or dots. I also inked around the edges of all my papers before adhering.
I took some beaded ruffle trim from the collection and glued along the bottom edge of my tag. Now take one of 3×4 journaling cards and adhere with foam dots over the previous layer. I took a Paris Theatre sentiment and curled the edges to create some dimension and glued at the top, above my journaling card. The vintage gal is from the ephermera pack. I adhered her to the side with foam dots. I added a few crystal gems, and a puffy butterfly sticker. Then thread some pink tulle through the hole at the top and tied into a bow. To finish my tag I glued a gem on the top of my bow. Added some Stickles glitter to her dress. And Luna paste on the flower petals!
Tag #2: I took some honeycomb paper from my crafty stash, and diecut a circle die shape. Then glued this to the back of my chipboard embroidery hoop. For my second layer on my tag base, I cut out a journaling card from my 12×12 paper pad. Inked the edges and added foam dots to the back and adhered in the center of my tag. Now take embroidery hoop piece, added foam dots to the back and adhere at the top of your journaling card. I fussy cut out acouple bees and the hive from leftover papers. Then glue onto scattered areas on my embroidery hoop and honeycomb paper. I glued a chipboard sticker bee at the bottom of my embroidery hoop. Then added a chipboard sticker sentiment at the bottom edge of my tag. I tied some gold tulle through the hole at the top of my tag, along with a cute bee/honeycomb charm! I took some Stickles glitter and added to the bee's wings and bee hive.
Tag 3: I traced around the vintage girl from one of my 12×12 papers. Glued this image to the back of my chipboard embroidery hoop. Add a second layer of patterned paper cut at 3 & 1/2 x 5 inches, ink edges and adhere on top of your base paper using foam dots. I rubbed distress ink around the edges of my doily before gluing on top of my paper. Then added foam dots to the back of my embroidery hoop and adhered over the center of my Doily. I fussy cut out two butterflies and inked around the edges. I glued one butterfly on my embroidery hoop along with a crystal gem at the top of my embroidery hoop. I fussy cut one of the sentiments from my papers and adhered towards the bottom with foam dots. Glued the other butterfly above my sentiment. I stapled one of the small empherma tags and glued at the upper right corner of my tag.
To finish my tag, I glued acouple flowers at the bottom right. Brushed the flower petals with Luna paste. Scattered some crystal gems onto my tag. Tied some light blue tulle through the hole at the top of my tag.
