Springtime and Butterflies!

Hello Crafters!

It's Dana and I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog to share a Springtime Home Decor project! I'm so ready for spring aren't you? Clear Scraps has so many fun products to choose from to decorate your home for spring.

For my project today we will be using several products from Clear Scraps, medium wood pallet, Deco,  Click Here  chipboard fancy butterflies, Click Here and spring/flower wood shapes Click Here

The papers I chose are from Graphic 45 Nature's Notebook collection.

To begin our project, I chose 3 different coordinating papers from the 8×8 paper pad. Traced around each section of my pallet, cut off at the bottom. Then glued each paper onto each section of my pallet using Beacon 3 in 1 glue. I trimmed around all edges and using my Clear Scraps sanding stick, Click Here I distressed around all the edges. Then applied distress ink around all edges of my pallet.

Next I took my wood flower and traced onto another coordinating paper. Glue paper to base of flower, trim with xacto knife and distress and ink around the edges. Take your wood Spring words and add some yellow acrylic paint to the surface and around all edges. Let dry.

Fussy cut some of the butterflies and flowers from other papers in your paper pad. Ink edges. I took a scalloped die from my craft stash and diecut from another coordinating paper and set thede aside.

Now cut apart one of your Clear Scraps fancy butterflies from the package. You can save the other butterfly for a future project. I took acrylic paint in brown and painted the butterfly body and antennas. Let dry. Then I applied glue onto the wings of my butterfly and sprinkled Fire opal and gold glitters onto the butterfly wings. Shake off any excess glitter and set aside to dry.

Take a foam mat and embossing tool, and rub in a circular motion in the center of each flower to create some lift  to your flower petals.

Now we are ready to build our flower. I glued my scalloped piece with foam tape on the back and adhered in the center of my wood flower shape. Then added my two fussy cut flowers on top of each other. I applied foam tape on the back of my wood flower and adhered towards the top left side of my wood pallet.

I then arranged my other embellishments onto my wood pallet. Once I was satisfied with the placement, I adhered onto my pallet with Beacon glue. For my chipboard butterfly and spring wood words, I added some foam dots to the back before adhering onto my pallet. I added a crystal flower gem over the dotted "i" on my spring words. I glued my fussy cut butterflies onto my pallet and added a chipboard sticker sentiment in addition to crystals gems over the holes of my chipboard sentiment piece.

To finish my design I glued some metal ornate corners to the top and bottom if my pallet. You can add a ribbon, tulle to hang your home decor piece or display on a stand.
