Hi Craft Friends!

I'm Dana and I have a Easter cardmaking idea to share. I think handmade cards are as much fun to create as to receive. Don't you? Have you seen all the new shakers and stencils now on the Clear Scraps website? Be sure to check them out.

Today's card features the new Clear Scraps  Plaid mixer stencil Click Here  Easter egg shaker Click Here and chipboard mix crosses Click Here

To begin I started with a 7×6 white card and 3 bright colored Distress inks. I chose Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn. Tape your stencil in place with Washi tape. Then using an ink dabber, apply each color of Distress ink using a circular motion.

I alternated my colors over each section of my stencil. I just love the Plaid design. Don't you? Carefully lift off your stencil from your paper. Then I matted my stenciled card onto a piece of bright pink cardstock. Trim leaving a 1/8 inch pink border around the edge. Apply some foam tape to the back before adhering to 6×6 white card base, leaving about 1/8 inch of my white card showing. Set your card aside. 

Now take your shaker pieces out of your package and using a pencil, trace around your bottom shaker piece onto a patterned paper of your choice. Then using Beacon glue, adhere your paper onto your shaker piece. Trim around the edges and using a sanding or Distress tool, smooth out any rough edges. Take your top shaker piece and decorate with paint, inks, or glitter as I did. For my chipboard mixed crosses, I cut apart one of the crosses the other crosses I'll save for a future project. I added gold glitter to my chipboard cross. Set aside these pieces till throughly dry.

While drying, glue your next 2 chipboard shaker pieces on top of your bottom piece. Fill your sections of your shaker Easter egg with sequins, confetti or beads. I'm using Clear Scraps Spring shaker filler Click Here 

Now peel off the protective film on both sides of the shaker acrylic piece. Then glue and adhere on top of the other layers.  Add the top shaker piece. Set aside to dry throughly before shaking! I then took some pink acrylic paint and applied around the sides of my easter egg shaker. 

Now its time to decorate your card! I arranged my Easter egg shaker and chipboard cross where I desired before gluing onto my card base. I added a few sticker sentiments, a Easter egg sticker border along the bottom edge. Then some enamel dots to finish my card!
