You can use the 6 X 8 album either vertically or horizontally and the banner is a great place to add your title or extra embellishments to the cover of your album.

I created this Halloween themed mini album using it horizontally…

Here's a look at the pages in the album; I used photos of my kids at Halloween from different years…

To make the album, I started by painting 1" around all the edges, front and back with black paint. I painted the back of one of the pages all black for the back cover of the album. I also painted along the top of both sides of the banner piece with black paint.

I mixed a cream color to match the off white color in my papers, and painted the banner pieces front and back with it. I also distressed the edges of the pages using the cream paint.

For a little more detail, I distressed the banner pieces with touches of orange and black.

I used one of the pumpkins from the Jack O Lantern Chipboard Embellishments to add to the cover design. I painted it with several shades of orange paint that were barely blended together. I loosely outlined the openings for the eyes, nose and mouth with cream paint and painted the stem brown. I then backed the jack-o-lantern with black cardstock. 

I used printed papers and embellishments cut from printed paper to embellish the pages. I matted my photos on black cardstock.

Once all the pages were finished, I used 1" book rings to bind the album and tied orange and black ribbons on them.

Clear Scraps Mini Albums are great to use to make fun and unique albums to display for the holidays or give as gifts. or just put them on your coffee table where family or guests can enjoy flipping through them. I have a vintage pottery planner that I put several mini albums out in.
