Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello! It's Jennifer here today to share another one of the fabulous Shiplap Shapes!  If you haven't had a chance to create a project with one of these yet, you must! Not only do they come in two sizes but there are a variety of designs to choose from!  Today, I'm sharing the Large Cutting Board Shiplap Shape as well as techniques I used to create my project! 

I began by adding a generous coat of chalk paint in a nice "greige" color.  After my paint was dry, I did go back with my sanding tool to distress the sides to add some texture. 

Using the 4×6 Hello Fall Stencil, I secured it to the bottom right hand corner of my Cutting Board.  I had just enough of some of my metallic paste left for my project to use and applied with a spatula.  I allowed ample time for the paste to dry with my stencil still in place. 

I then turned my Cutting Board around to work on my next stencil.  This time using painters tape, I used the 5×9 Leaves Mixer Stencil along the top slat of the board.  In a circular motion and with ample pressure, I applied my Metallic Gilding Polish (the color is Gold Treasure). 

Once the polish was dry, I adhered my patterned paper as shown using my Beacon Adhesive. I trimmed any excess with scissors as well used my sanding tool.

Before removing my stencil, I blended Distress Oxide Inks into the metallic paste. I did use some texture resist spray because I wanted to see if it would work but I think it just made a mess LOL.  

I decorated three of the Mason Jar Chipboard Embellishment Shapes as shown and adhered them with my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive.  

Here is a close up of the Gilding Polish with the stencil.  Not perfect but that is totally ok! 

Last, I added ribbon and some fall foliage to accent using my hot glue gun!
