Ribbon Mini Shaker Layout

Hello everyone! It is Jennifer here on the blog to share a layout I created using the Ribbon Mini Shaker Shape!  November is lung cancer awareness month so I thought I would use the shaker for a page all about my sweet angel mother.  My mom passed away from lung cancer a little over 13 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her dearly.  I think creating pages such as these are therapeutic and healing.

After adhering my background paper down, I used the 5×9 Circle Dots Patterns Stencil with three coordinating Distress Oxide Inks.  I blended my inks around where I  would place my photo.

I set my page aside to work on my Mini Shaker Shape.  Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I affixed patterned paper to the chipboard base of the shaker.  I trimmed away excess paper with scissors as well as used my sanding stick to smooth the edges.

For the top and two insides frames, I painted them with white acrylic paint as shown.  I  chose white because it is the ribbon color for lung cancer awareness.

I added small beaded sequins to the inside of my shaker after adhering my two center frames. I then adhered the acrylic overlay and clipped my pieces together while the adhesive dried.

I then adhered the top frame and added a sentiment die cut shape to the center.   You can also see a small wood heart I added as well.

Along the border of my two patterns,  I layered stickers, die cuts, and hand punched circles using foam dots on some of the elements.

As I get older, the less I like my handwriting! So, I decided to type out my journaling on my typewriter and white cardstock. I adhered each piece with my Beacon 3-in-1.
