Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello crafty friends! Happy Valentines Day! It's Jennifer here on the blog to share a fun project I created using the Large Heart Shiplap Shape! I had in mind this will be perfect as a door hanger for future Februarys!  The techniques I  used are simple and I'm going to share them with you today! 

Starting with some red chalk paint, I covered the front of my Heart Shiplap Shape; giving it a few coats.  The birch wood accepts the chalk paint nicely and I wanted a bright red result.  I did use my sanding tool to around  the edges to give it a distressed look. 

Next, taking my Beacon-3-in-1 Liquid Adhesive, I  affixed patterned paper to the top and bottom of my Heart Shiplap Shape.  I  cut away any excess paper with my scissors followed by again using my sanding tool.  

I set aside my Shiplap to work on my embellishments.  Using the Dragonflies Chipboard Embellishment Shapes, I  painted each with a light coat of white acrylic paint.  

After allowing my paint to dry, I  applied embossing ink and pink glitter powder  to each of the Dragonflies.  I set with my heat tool and set them aside.  

I  added additional patterned paper and embellishments before affixing my Dragonflies Chipboard Embellishment Shapes with my Beacon Liquid Adhesive. 

Lastly, using my Big Bite I punched holes in each side of the top of my Shiplap and threaded this cute red gingham ribbon through so I  could hang my creation!
