Are there scrapbook pages and pictures sitting in a drawer or box somewhere in your home, waiting to be created? Hi, it's Maureen with you today, and I am forever feeling guilty that I have tons of pictures from vacations (or other moments) gone by, untouched. This project today is hopefully a solution to a problem like that – allowing you a quick solution to getting those items out in the open.
Allow yourself the permission to create an easier solution to scrapbooking – by creating with Memory-Dex boxes and dividers. Sometimes it feels like we have to have the large page to document on, but this idea gives your best pictures a chance to shine. And, you still can create those pages later if you want!
I'm starting with a few dividers to document some of my favorite Disney trips over the years. I have hundreds of pictures, since we've gone many times over the years. This box will give those photos a chance to shine and I'll pick my favorite ones to put out on display. The box I chose is the 12" High DIY Wood Box, since I anticipate I'll have several photos to fill it with down the road. I assemble it according to instructions, using a hot glue in all the joints.
Then, I paint the inside of the box black, including the rods. On the outside, I line the edges in a red shimmery card stock, tracing them with a pencil before cutting. These panels are applied with tacky glue. I've added black circles to the end of the box for ears, and the hands are cut with my Cricut library files.
For my dividers, I picked a couple different shapes. The first is this Minnie Mouse purse, done with one of the Purse Acrylic Dividers. It's so cute! I really love the black shimmery card stock. It's embossed with a quilted embossing folder.
My next divider is a Goofy theme, done with one of the Rounded Tab Chipboard Dividers. This one is traced and covered in an argyle print paper and I add a Goofy hat to the top. I'm using stickers from a paper set in my stash.
The third divider is Donald and it is so cute! This one is the Vintage Chipboard Divider, covered in white paper. Then I took a blue paper and covered the bottom half, applied buttons and a hat. I love this one!!
You really don't have to spend a lot of time or effort on a photo album like this, and it is adorable to set out for a display. I hope you give this project a try and check out all the Memory-Dex products that Clear Scraps has to offer! See an additional supply list below. Thanks for stopping by!
