Hi there everyone! Laura here with you today and SO excited to share a springtime home decor project during Clear Scrap's week long collaboration with Tres Jolie Kit Club!
I started with some plain wood shapes (rectangle and deco) I had on hand. I painted the rectangle and traced and cut out the deco on pretty paper from the Tres Jolie Kit. Once I had the base set, it was time to create the layers on top! First up was to use the Clear Scraps Mason Jar Shiplap Shape Small and the 5×9 Leaves Stencil.
I used white acrylic paint first to create a light wash on the Clear Scraps Mason Jar Shiplap piece. The top was painted with gray paint, and then brushed lightly with black, and I went back in with gray to create a distressed look. Then a light green paint was used to make a little trail of leaves, using one of the leaf openings on the stencil. I pounced with a foam applicator to get a soft mottled look. This Clear Scraps piece set up the perfect background for the beautiful flowers.
I fussy cut some of the leaves and added them along with flowers and enamel dots/sentiments along the path of the stenciled leaves. You can see them just peeking out along the other pieces. I also wanted to add a larger sentiment to the home decor piece, so I created a little rectangle of some of the Tres Jolie Kit pretty paper.
This was matted it on a piece of white cardstock and the "Happy Spring" sentiment was added. Then more fussy cut flowers and other flowers and enamel dots were added to the corner to finish it off. It's such a pretty spring home decor piece–makes me think of fresh cut flowers in a mason jar on the table.
