I don't often get to make wedding cards – as many cards as I create, that one doesn't come up that often. Hi, I'm Maureen with you today, and I have a fun project just in time for the Summer wedding season. I've created a wedding card that is sure to stand out to your recipients as a unique creation!
My first step is to take a 5" by 6.5" white card and stencil it using the Clear Scraps Floral 1 Border masking stencil. With this tool, I am using some Distress inks in various pastels, and shading the leaves and then the flowers across the left edge of the card. You can add dimension by dusting 2 different shades of an ink on the white space as you go.
Next, I'm tracing the & Chipboard Embellishment in a pretty blue floral paper and cutting it out with a detail scissors. Before gluing it on the chipboard, I dust the edges with a little black ink, to give it a rustic look.
Then it was time to dig out some assorted die cuts in my stash! I love sunflowers, so I chose a couple different sizes of die cuts and did coordinating colors in a green polka dot paper, along with yellow card stock. These are adhered to the front of the card in the corners. The & embellishment is then glued on over the flowers.
Sentiments came next, and I once again dug through my stash. I had the "always" and "forever" phrases from a Valentine's set and cut them out in coordinating white and blue card stock. These were glued together and secured to the front of my card.
My final addition was to add some blue-green twine up in the corner of the card, which I tied in a bow and glued into place. My card is now complete and I really love the look of the Summer floral theme without it being a typical pink or black type of wedding card.
What would you create with the "&" sign? I think sayings like love and marriage, hugs and kisses or even peace and love would be great ideas for a fun saying. I hope you enjoyed this quick project today! Thanks for joining me and see you next time!
Maureen
