Hi there everyone!! Laura here with you today to share a patriotic project for the upcoming 4th of July holiday!
Do you love creating home decor for the holidays as much as I do? It's so easy to do when you have the right "tools"! The Clear Scraps DIY Pallet Shapes are perfect for this! I started with the Circle Medium Pallet Shape and built from there! It's as simple as tracing the shape onto the patterned paper of your choice, cut it out, and glue it down for the base. I'm always a fan of a more "simple" background, so I choose the papers that are basics, like a plaid, etc. After all the pieces are cut out and glued down, it's time for the embellishing!
First up is the star embellishment. This was created using the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Star. The solid back piece is traced onto patterned paper and then cut out and glued onto the back piece. Then the other layers are glued on top. Before the acrylic layer (remember to pull off the protective coating), I added the Clear Scraps Winter Sequin Mix. It's winter, but has the perfect red, white and blue colors for this type of project! After all the layers were glued down, I glued on the star and started the second shaker.
The cute little hat can be used for so many different holidays or occasions (wedding, St. Patricks, etc) but it also makes a great patriotic hat! It was created just as the star. After it was glued and foam taped on, I started layering the stickers around it, a few sentiments, and it was done. Such a sweet, simple project that I can now use as a great home decor piece!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a happy, safe, fun weekend!
