Hi all! Laura is here with you today to share a super cute acrylic card that would be great for any summer greeting!
This card uses the adorable NEW Mini Shaker Strawberry from Clear Scraps! If you haven't checked out the "What's New" section in the Clear Scraps store lately–you definitely should! So many fun new goodies to help you create cards, scrapbook LO's, home decor and more! You can find all of the new shakers and other items HERE. They are sure to get those creative juices flowing!!
For this juicy strawberry shaker I wanted a fun splashy background so I used a clear acrylic piece and bright fun red and yellow-green alcohol inks!
I just simple drip the ink on and then dab here and there with a piece of foam to spread it around a bit. Just keep repeating until you get a look you like! Then to create the card, simply cut a typical A2 card size (5&1/2" by 4&1/4") BUT add half an inch to the width (so 4&3/4"). Score at that 4&1/4 line though and fold. It gives you a nice edge to attach to the front of your card. Glue that edge to the front and your good to go! I added a thin strip of patterned paper and a bit of twine for a little something extra.
To create the strawberry, it was painted with green and red acrylic paint, and the solid back was traced onto a fun patterned paper. It was cut out and glued down along with all the layers of the shaker–until the acrylic layer. The Clear Scraps Summer Sequins are a perfect match, so those were added, then the acrylic layer and the top frame were glued into place.
You can see how this mini shaker pops with the colorful paper and sequins. A great card to send to friends or family!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
