Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here! Happy September! I love the fall season and pumpkin spice drinks and lattes! What's your favorite thing about fall?
Today I'll be creating a Home Decor project featuring Clear Scraps Square Shiplap Shape Medium Click here and this cute Coffee Mug Chipboard Embellishment! Click here
The papers I'll be using are from Simple Stories Cozy Days collection.
To start this project, I took some Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint and applied about 1 inch border around the edge. Set aside to dry.
Cut apart the two pieces from your coffee mug Chipboard Embellishment. Trim off any nibs from the edge. I applied some Folkart Conch Shell acrylic paint to the top portion of my coffee mug. Here's a photo!
For the bottom portion of my coffee mug, I traced, cut out and using Beacon glue, I glued my patterned paper onto the bottom of my coffee mug Chipboard Embellishment. I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife.
Then taking my Clear Scraps sanding tool Click here I smoothed any rough edges. Take your other chipboard piece with the heart, and I glued another coordinating paper onto my chipboard piece and repeated our previous steps. For inside the heart, I glued a small ephemera sentiment in the center. See photo:
I chose a patterned paper and cut to measure 5 & 1/2 x 5 & 1/2 inches. I applied foam tape on the back before adhering to my Shiplap shape. Here's a photo!
Now take your coffee mug Chipboard Embellishment and wrap some jute cord around the top edge of your coffee mug. Glue ends to secure on the backside. I fussy cut out acouple leaves from scrap paper and glued on the side of my coffee mug. I added a sticker flower next to the leaves.
Taking some more foam tape I applied to the back of my coffee mug Chipboard Embellishment and adhered on the left side on my Shiplap shape, at a slight angle. This adds dimension and interest.
I added a Happy Fall sticker at the top right corner. I cut out a smaller Journaling card "Spice it Up" and glued towards the bottom right edge. I also applied foam dots to the back of my ephemera latte mug and adhered below my sentiment on the bottom edge. I applied some Stickles Stardust glitter to the top of the whipped cream on my latte. Here's a closeup look!
To finish my project, I glued several sequins in scattered areas! Here's my finished project:
Another closeup for you!
