Welcome to School

School is back in session! As a special Ed teacher to some amazing littles, I wanted to create an inviting wreath for my classroom door.

Using my school colors, I bought fabric (1/2 yd each pattern) and 1in to 1.5in ribbons. I cut the fabric and ribbon using pinking shears into 2×10 in strips. I like how the pinking shears leave a design on the edges of the fabric and ribbon.

I tied the fabric and ribbon pieces to each of the rings on the wreath and pushed them together until it was full. I made sure to spread out the designs so they didn’t bunch up together. I filled in some spaces with smaller ribbon.

For the sign I had a small chalkboard that I painted white and added the “welcome” from the Word n shape welcome jar (the jar was used in a different project) and the Word n shape school apple. I painted the words black and added the white dots with paint. I covered the apple with paper and decorated with several stickers. I glued them to the chalkboard using 3 in 1 and finally glued it to the wreath.
