Hello and welcome, Clear Scraps friends! My name is Sarah, and I'm a new guest designer here. I'm beyond excited to be a guest designer for Clear Scraps, as I have enjoyed using their projects from when I first started crafting. I’m thrilled to share what I’ve recently created with all of you. Today, I wanted to highlight the super, versatile Chipboard Embellishments. Have you tried them yet?! They're so much fun.
For this project, I used the Bell Bulbs Chipboard Embellishments to create a card. Instead of separating the ornaments from the outline chipboard frame, I kept everything attached. I went to town with a variety of inks, paints, and coordinating stamps and patterned papers from Elle’s Studio.
First, I used washi tape to make sure I didn’t get ink on the ornaments.
Then, I added some red ink around the chipboard outer frame. I added enough red ink until it was the shade of red I was aiming for.
After applying red ink to the outer frame, I added color to the first ornament on the left. I applied a couple layers until it was the shade of green I wanted.
Next, I added more color to the chipboard embellishment with gold paint. A couple of paint layers worked well here.
On a separate 4×6 piece of white cardstock, I repeatedly stamped the phrase “fa la la la la la la” from an Elle’s Studio Stamp Set. Any Christmas phrase stamp would work as well.
Once you have a whole background filled with a Christmas sentiment, you can then take your chipboard embellishment (outer frame still attached) and layer it on top. By adding that extra piece, you’ve created an element of extra depth to the chipboard embellishment.
Feel free to embellish your ornaments with various stickers, stamps, and/or labels. For this card, I used an assortment of stickers and stamps to give it that extra Christmas-y look!
With a little bit of paint and some stamps and stickers, I was able to transform this Chipboard Embellishment into a Christmas card that I plan to mail out to someone very special! Thanks a ton for taking a look at my project today! Can't wait to share more fun inspiration with you all. And don't forget to check out all of the products I used below.
Until next time,
Sarah.
