Leaves are falling, temperatures are getting cooler, and it’s time to get the fall decor out. I just love fall! The colors, pumpkins, old trucks, pumpkin patches, sunflowers and the smell of pumpkin spice.
I have a small tiered tray stand that I use throughout the year for holiday’s and season decor. This year I made a few decorative pieces to kick off the season.
First I made this cute photo holder using the Small Mason jar ShiplapI traced the jar with the paper I wanted to use. I cut the paper, made a slit with the exacto knife where I wanted the brad and clamp to go and finally added the brad and clamp (important to do this before glueing the paper to the wood shape). I inked the edges using Marmalade by Tim Holtz. I then glued it to the jar, added some ribbon, stickers and a flower.
I took the truck from the Word n shape blessed truck painted it green on one side and covered the other side with fall paper. Using an exacto knife, I cut around the truck to get those tiny and tricky areas that scissors just can’t get to. I used a file to smooth out the outer edges and I inked the edges. Finally I embellished with flowers and a sticker.
For the garland, I strung some beads together and made a tassel by wrapping twine around my fingers a few times, I tied one end with a piece of twine and cut the other end to create the tassel. Next using some fall print paper, I covered the pumpkin from the Wood n shape fall pumpkin and added a sticker and flower. I then punched a hole in the pumpkin and threaded the twine through the hole. Finally, I painted the wood “fall” word dark brown.
I had an extra pumpkin so I covered it with fall paper, cut around the edges with an exacto knife and smoothed the edges using a files. Finally I inked the edges and added some embellishments.
Here is the final result. I hope I have inspired you to make your own decorations for small spaces.
