Ahoy There!
Today I am sharing a fun project that is near and dear to my heart, my hometown
Vero Beach, Fl. I used Clear Scraps Wooden Anchor Album that measures 6.5 inches wide
by 8.5 inches Tall and 1/8 inch thick. This album is so easy to decorate, you can paint it or you can use scrapbook paper like I did. To decorate your album with Scrapbook paper you will need
a few small items to start. First you will trace your holes and anchor with your pencil. I prefer mechanical pencils as the lead is thinner and can fit easily in the nooks and crannies of your
wood or chipboard items.
Next you will need to grab your crafters exacto knife and ever so slowly cut around the anchor and then gently pop it out. If you struggle at all to remove it, just go around some of the areas again with your exacto knife until it comes loose. Then you can use your hole punch to the area for the binder rings, Next you will grab some paint, any color of your choice, here I used basic white matte paint. With your paint brush you will paint along the sides and the front and back of the album where the anchor and binder holes are. This is to ensure that if you paper doesn't line up exactly you won't need to worry because the paint will show through and not the wood.
Once you have waited for the paint to dry all you need to do is glue the scrap book papers on both sides of each wooden panel and now your album is ready to decorate.
For my album I used Carta Bella paper co. "By the Sea" Scrapbook kit. For my pages I added several pages that I cut 6.5" x 8.5" to fit inside my album and then added holes with my hole punch. I also start gathering photos, frames, stickers and ephemera from my the paper collection and start creating my pages.
I had so much fun decorating the cover and the pages. Below are some of my completed pages.
I hope that my project inspires you to try the 6×8 Wooden Anchor Album
