Halloween DIY MemoryDex Box

Hello and welcome, Clear Scraps friends! Sarah, here, and I'm excited to be back as a guest designer sharing my second project for Clear Scraps! Today, I wanted to show off a fun, festive Halloween project I created using various Clear Scraps products. Let’s take a look at how I used a Regular DIY wood box measuring at 4.75 in x 6 in., Regular Acrylic Dividers, and Houses Chip Dividers to document Halloween photos over the years.

I embellished all the blank sides of the Regular DIY wood box with an assortment of Halloween patterned papers.

I knew all sides of the Regular DIY box would be visible, so I made sure to cover both front and back of each of the wood pieces. Once all sides were covered, I distressed the edges by adding ink to the edges.

Once all edges of the wood pieces had ink, I assembled my Regular DIY box. I made sure to use a strong adhesive, so it wouldn’t come apart.

After the adhesive dried, I added the two dowels that came in the Regular DIY box to the bottom. The dowels helped hold each MemoryDex card in its place.

After the wood pieces were glued together and embellished with paper, I started to decorate the front of my box and create the MemoryDex cards I wanted to use to document photos of our Halloween costumes over the years.

I decorated the first MemoryDex card with one of the Houses Chip Dividers. I wanted to make the house shapes look more like a haunted house, so I added spooky papers and bats.

I created a MemoryDex card starting from my kids’ 1st Halloween costumes all the way up until last year’s costume. I embellished the rest of the Houses Chip Dividers, as well as the Regular Acrylic Dividers. Here are some photos of the embellished pages:

My favorite part about creating this Halloween box was being able to use the various Clear Scraps materials (wood, chipboard, and acrylic) to create a unique project for my family to flip through every October! The possibilities are endless when you think about all the ways you can embellish these surfaces with your papers, stickers, and stamps. What’d you think? Hopefully, I have convinced you to create a box to document your Halloween memories!

That’s it for now. I can't wait to share more fun inspiration with you all next month. Last but not least, don't forget to check out all of the products I used below.

Until next time,

Sarah.
