It is a season to be thankful and grateful. As the holidays draw closer, I wanted to use the Clear Scraps birch wood mason jar to create a home decor piece that can be a great hostess gift, Christmas or birthday gift.
I wanted the look of a blue tinted mason jar, so I painted mine with a light/pastel blue. once the paint dried, I added a clear glaze over most of the jar shape to give a glass effect. At the end I sprayed a glitter spray over the project, and this gives a water effect for the jar.
Once dry I began to layout the project. I used decorative paper, ephemera, stickers and die cuts I have in my “collection”. I am using a home decor cutting board that I picked up at a local store. By using a dark stain, it shows off the colors in this collection. I also used a stencil with paint as the first layer.

I created a “hidden” pocket on the side. To allow a special message and photo to be tucked inside. Using foam tape for each layer to give the project a lot of dimensions. Mixed media is using all types of mediums in a project, lace, paper, chipboard, stickers and ephemera all came together for this beautiful project.
