Vintage Christmas Shiplap Angel Home Decor

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! I hope you all had a Blessed Thanksgiving with family. The Christmas season is just around the corner. So today I'll be making a Christmas Home Decor project just in time for the holidays.

The base of my project is this Clear Scraps Wood Star ( sorry it's been discontinued) but you can use any of the other Clear Scraps Wood pallets and shiplap shapes for your base. Click here

I'll also be decorating this cute Angel Shiplap Shape small Click here

The papers I'll be using are from Prima Marketing Frank Garcia's Christmas Sparkle collection from last year.

To begin our project, I took my wood Star shape and traced onto a Star patterned paper. Taking my x-acto knife I trimmed away any excess paper.

Then using my Clear Scraps sanding tool Click here I smoothed any rough edges away. Set aside for now.

Now take you Angel Shiplap Shape and with some Folkart Milkjug acrylic paint I applied it to the Angel's face. After the paint has dried,  I took my black finetip marker, I drew some eyes and mouth on my Angel's face. Then I took some Prima Chalk Ink Old Rose and with a sponge applicator i applied some pink chalk ink on both of her cheeks. Here's a closeup:

Next I cut a few pieces of jute cord and glued around top edge of her head and added acouple bangs on the side. Taking a small piece of silver tinsel stem, I shaped into a small halo and twisted the ends together. With hot glue i adhered the halo onto my Angel's head. Here's a photo:

For her wings, I applied some white acrylic paint on each wing. After the paint has dried, I applied some Cosmic Shimmer Luna paste Moonlight Pearl on the surface of her wings. This adds a nice shimmery sparkle! Here's some closeup photos:

For her dress, I traced and cut out her dress and glued in place. I adhered a few tiny pink buttons going down the center of her dress. I glued some Sparkle tinsel trim around her neckline and bottom of her dress. Here's a photo:

To finish my project, I applied some foam tape to the backside of my Angel and adhered her in the center of my Star wood shape. I glued several gold star sequins on my Star base.

You can add a metal hanger, or ribbon on the backside so you can hang and display!

I hope you are inspired with my project idea and will create your own Home Decor piece to enjoy for years to come!
