Hi Craft Friends!
December has arrived and the Christmas season is upon us. Have you started your decorating yet? I have a Home Decor project to share today, just in time for the holidays! We will be creating some Clear Scraps Chipboard 3D Christmas trees. Click here I think they are going to be one of my favorite decor pieces to display year after year! I hope you think so too! They'd also make a great gift idea!
I chose to use Prima Frank Garcia's Christmas Sparkle collection from last year, since I love the Shabby vintage look!
To begin our project, I took some acrylic paint in light blue Desert Sky and Folkart Conch Shell and applied on both sides of each bottom base on the medium and large tree shapes. I also painted all sides of each star on both trees.
The large tree base I applied some Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled some Stardust glitter over top. Shake off your excess embossing powder and heat with your heat tool.
On the smallest tree, I painted the base with the same Folkart Conch Shell paint. For the star, I applied some Martha Stewart Sterling silver glitter. Then I traced all 3 tree shapes onto patterned papers, covering both sides of each size tree. I recommend Beacon glue when adhering your papers to the chipboard.
Next trace coordinating patterned papers to all sides of your tree. Trim away any excess paper using a x-acto knife. Then using my Distress tool, I smoothed any rough edges. Repeat this process for each tree. Be sure to cut the slot in the middle of each tree.
Here's some photos so far:

Medium Tree: on one side I did cover with Crafters Companion silver glitter cardstock:

Now we can start decorating our 3D Christmas trees! This is my favorite part! I love to use different embellishments such as glitter, flowers chipboard stickers and more. Just decorate to match your own style. I wanted a more Shabby vintage look to my trees. But you could create with traditional Christmas colors if you desire.
Small tree: I glued some tiny Pastel pom pom's to the ends of some of my tree branches, using my hot glue gun. I also added some chipboard stickers, and sentiments on all sides of my tree. I applied some Aleene's Fake snow onto some branches. Here's a photo!
Medium Tree: I took some silver bells and with the wire I twisted around each branch of my tree so they dangle off each branch. Then trimmed off any excess wire. I applied some Chipboard stickers, sentiment and Prima flowers. Then applied the fake snow on the branches as we did before with the small tree. Here's a photo:
Large Tree: I glued a variety of ephemera, chipboard stickers/and hearts and sentiments. For the chipboard wreath with the little girl and puppy, I glued some Sparkle tinsel around the outside edge of my wreath. This adds some Sparkle! Here's some closeups!
I applied some Stickles Stardust and Diamond glitter to some of my imagesand glued a small white pom pom to Santa's hat!
Now we're done! Your trees are ready to display and enjoy! Here's my finished photo:
