Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here! Christmas is one of my favorite Holidays! I love decorating, bakibg cookies, putting up the Christmas tree, and of course crafting! I'm getting ready to move into a new house. So no decorating my house this year. I'll be taking a short break from the Clear Scraps Design Team. I'll miss you all! But I'll return in a few months and have more craft inspiration to share with you.
Today we will be making a Christmas album using Clear Scraps Chipboard 5×7 Tab Album Click here and Clear Scraps Xmas Tree mini pallet Click here
The papers I chose are from Prima Marketing Frank Garcia's Christmas Market collection. It has a vintage look which I love.
To start creating our album, I chose several coordinating papers and cut to measure 4 & 5/8 x 7 inches. I inked all my papers using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. Be sure to mark and punch your holes on the side of your album before gluing down. I recommend using Beacon glue. This glue is the perfect go to glue for chipboard and embellishments. Set your album aside for now.
Next take your Clear Scraps mini pallet Tree shape. I painted the bottom base of the tree with brown acrylic paint. Let dry. Then measure and cut your paper to fit onto each pallet section on your tree. I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife and distressed any rough edges using my sanding tool.
I took some iridescent tinsel and glued around the outside edge of my mini pallet Tree shape. I glued a pink Prima flower at the top of my tree. Added a ephemera sentiment and a few Prima crystals! I fussycut the little girl image and adhered on the right side using foam dots. I fussycut a Santa/banner piece and adhered with foam dots. Then using hot glue I adhered my pallet tree along the bottom edge. Here's a closeup!
All tabs were covered with leftover scrap papers, trimmed with an x-acto knife and distressed and inked.
Page 1: I cut down my vintage card to measure 4 x 2 & 5/8 inches, scored 1/2 inch at the top and adhered along the top of my page. I cut a cream cardstock piece to measure 3 & 1/2 x 3 & 1/2 inches. I fussycut the image of the little vintage kids and adhered with foam dots at the bottom of my page along with a chipboard sticker tree.
Page 2: I created a pocket measuring 4 x 6 inches and adhered at the bottom. I added a puffy sticker candy canes heart in the upper right corner and a gingerbread man ephemera piece with foam dots in the opposite corner. I cut a few small journal cards and tucked inside my pocket! And a few Prima crystals! Here's some closeups!
Page 3: Polka-dot flip page 4 x 6 inches and score 1/2 on the left side and adhere to your page. Over the scored line, I glued a gingerbread border strip. With foam dots, I adhered a ephemera card with the baby by the window, I glued a Prima flower at the bottom and a tiny gingerbread puffy sticker. There's room to add a photo or two underneath your flip page.
Page 4: I cut 3 journal cards leaving the top border strip in place, then adhered at the top as a waterfall effect. Glued a chipboard sticker 25 in the upper right corner and a Santa puffy sticker at the bottom. Here's some photos!
Page 5: Flip up page measuring 3 & 3/8 x 6 & 3/4 inches and scored 1/2 inch at the top. I added a chipboard sticker sentiment at the top over the scored line. And a sleigh chipboard sticker at the bottom of my page underneath the flip page.
Page 6: I created another pocket page 4×4 inches and glued at the bottom of my page. I tucked a few small tags inside my pocket. I did add a Prima crystal on the top of each tag.
Now to finish the album, I attached two metal rings through each hole and tied some pink and white tulle into a bow on each ring! You could tie with ribbons if you prefer. Here's my finished album!
I hope you enjoyed my album project! I think this would make a great gift idea and a great way to preserve all those Christmas family photos!
