Clear Scraps Project Post

Hi there everyone!!  Laura here with you today to share a home decor project you can display to help you ring in the New Year!

The base for this project is the Clear Scraps Circle DIY Medium Pallet Shape.  The pallets come in different sizes and shapes.  I love having a few of the basic shapes (circle, square, heart) to be able to create a fun home decor project any time!  These pallets are so fun to create with since you can paint, cover with paper, ink, stamp, stencil–so many options!  You can find all the different options in the Clear Scrap store HERE.

For this project, I started by painting the pallet white with acrylic paint.  Next step was to grab one of the Clear Scraps Mixer Stencils.  I love that they are a 2 in one!

This one is the 5"x9" GEO Burst Stencil.  I thought it was a great choice to mimic the idea of the gears and clock.  I just moved the stencil around as I used a soft brush to apply ink to create the all over pattern.  After that, I brushed a bit of that ink around the edges of the pallet for a little shading, and finally, I used a toothbrush and black paint to add the spatters.

This made a great base for the chipboard shapes!  The Clear Scraps Pocket Watch Chipboard Embellishment, and their Cog Gears Chipboard Embellishments were a perfect match! 

They were painted with black acrylic paint and after they dried a bit, I sprayed them with some silver ink to give them a cool contrast look to the background.  After they were all dry, they were glued to the project, then last thing was adding the "Happy New Year" with alphas, and then a bit of bling.  Nothing like a little bling to ring in the New Year!
