Hello and happy crafting. I had this cute Medium cutting board that I wanted to make for my daughter’s new apartment for Valentine’s Day. I also used the Heart shaker and Heart stencil in my project.
First thing I did was to paint the cutting board with brown chalk paint. Chalk paint provides a thicker coverage so you don’t have to add several layers. After the paint dried I grabbed the top portion of the heart stencil and some medium crackle paste and applied it to the center of the cutting board.
While the paste was drying I grabbed the heart shaker, some paper and traced, cut and glued the paper to the bottom portion of the heart shaker. I glued 2 of the heart shaker layers to the bottom portion and filled it with misc bling, gems and beads. I then removed the film from the acrylic portion and glued it to the shaker. Finally I painted the top Layer of the shaker with pink paint, followed by crackle paste and then I dabbed some brown paint on top. Once dried I glued it to the top of the acrylic. I added some paint around the edge so it will blend better with the cutting board.

I glued the shaker to the middle of the cutting board and then I gathered flowers, beads, decorative pins, lace and a gold key and layered them on the board in a diagonal pattern. I tied some lace to the top portion to finish it off.

This turned out to be a cute decorative piece for her small apartment. I hope you are inspired to create a cutting board decorative piece for you or for a gift.
