Valentines is right around the corner and I wanted to make a few tags for a junk journal I have been working on. I had 2 tags left over from the Tag chipboard album that I used.
First tag
I painted both tags with white paint. Once dry I went over it with a dark brown paint and for the first tab I used crackle paste to add some texture. Using a spatula, I scooped the paste and patted it onto the tag. The paste is thick and I didn’t want to “spread” it out in fear of covering the brown paint underneath.

When everything was dry, I added the ephemera pieces and layered them onto the tag. Using the frame as my guide, I glued the frame down first, then added the cutout of the woman inside the frame. Next, I added some metal elements, paper roses, lace and pearls. I finished the tag with a brown and lace ribbon at the top.
Second tag
As mentioned in the first tag, I painted it white and then added brown paint on top. After the white and brown paint dried, I used the top portion of the Heart swirl stencil and the crackle paste to create the background for the second tag. Be sure to secure the stencil so it doesn’t move around and to make sure you get an even coverage. When it dries, the hearts will have a crackle look to them as seen in the next photo.

I used the frame ephemera piece as my guide. I glued it down first, then added the die cut of the woman, lace, a metal heart, paper roses and the “A corner of your heart” saying. Finally, I added a brown shear ribbon and lace to the top to finish off the tag.
I love how versatile these tags can be. They will be a lovely addition to my junk journal. Thank you for looking and have a great day!
