Hey there, it’s Jennifer with another mixed media shaker tag. I used the same paper, Songs of the Sea by Stamperia, that I used on the Take Me to the Ocean shaker tag. These tags are so versatile! I am using mine in an album I am creating using the paper. These can also be used in scrapbooks, as decor, ornaments or as a gift. You can find these new shaker tags here in the What’s new section on the website.
First I traced, cut, inked and glued the paper to one side of the tag. I then cut the paper out of the shaker portion, I wanted to make it see through, with an exacto knife. I repeated the process for the other side.
Next I grabbed 2 of the chipboard shell shapes and added sand using Mudd Puddles glue and sand. While that dried I grabbed 1 of the acrylic shell shapes and removed the film. Using Dr Ph Martins India ink,I added a few drops of the blues and grabbed a piece of plastic and pressed it to the acrylic piece to spread the ink. I grabbed a splatter brush and alcohol and splattered it on top to get a water effect.

Once dried I glued it to the back side of the tag and glued one of the chipboard pieces that I added sand to.

I grabbed a small prima frame and Stazon brown ink and inked the frame to give it a vintage look. I grabbed some cheese cloth and glued it to the base of the tag and added some ephemera on top of the cheesecloth. I glued the frame and added some of the sand, sea glass and a starfish inside of the frame. Next I added the mermaid and some clear cabochons on top of the cheesecloth. Finally I grabbed the last 2 chipboard pieces and glued them together on top of the shell shaker portion. Then I filled in the shaker with shells, sand and sea glass. Finally I peeled the film off of the other acrylic piece and glued it to the shaker and then added the last chipboard piece that has sand on it. I grabbed some more cheese cloth and a ribbon and tied it to the top of the tag.
I hope you have as much fun as I have had with these new shaker tags! Thanks for looking.
