Clear Scraps Project Post

Hi there everyone!  Laura here with you today to share a few ideas for a springtime or Easter card using the Clear Scraps Chipboard Embellishments!

To create this card, I started with the Clear Scraps Bunnies Chipboard Embellishment set, and painted the cute floppy ear bunny with aqua acrylic paint.  I love that this one comes with 2 uniquely adorable bunnies, so you could use them together, or create 2 separate projects with them!  In the meantime, while the bunny dried, I also grabbed the Clear Scraps Basket Chipboard Embellishment.  This was painted with white acrylic paint.  I also wanted to create a background, but didn't want something "fussy" as I wanted to be able to see the basket well (it's so cute!).  So I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit behind just the basket part.

This piece was brushed with green ink.  I wanted to leave it soft and a little wispy looking to be a bit like grass.  This piece was glued to the back of the basket.  I also cut a small piece of green cardstock like little blades of grass and glued along the top edge.  You can use a die or paper punch, etc to create that look, or do this by hand (since it's a small piece).

Next up was to create the card background.  For this, I went to the Clear Scraps stencils!

One square of the entire Clear Scraps 5×9 Waves Strip Stencil was the perfect size to use.  It was dabbed on with green paint, then trimmed into the 2 pieces, matted onto green cardstock, and then adhered to the card base.  I did NOT use the standard A2 card size, I used a 4"x6" white cardstock base. 

To add the little bunny peeking out of the basket, I glued the bunny to the back of the basket first to make sure he was centered and peeking out just enough from behind the grass.

I added foam tape around him on the rest of the basket and attached to the card base.  A few stickers and a bow finished it off.
