Hi everyone 🙂 Welcome back to the Clear Scraps Blog
Lynn with you today.
In today’s project I am going to be working with the Mini Shaker Coffee Mug.
Being the owner of a small online handmade business, I am always involved with late night crafting sessions. To keep me motivated and awake during my nights, I drink buckets of coffee lol
When I came across this cute Coffee Mug shaker, I thought what a great way to express my LOVE for coffee 🙂
The Coffee Mug shaker combines 4 layers of chipboard and 1 layer of acrylic in it’s construction and measures 4.5” x 2.5”.
This great size would make a perfect topper for a greeting card, but today I have another idea.
To decorate the Coffee Mug shaker I decided to use a Coffee themed scrapbook paper that I had been hoarding for some time. The colours of the paper matched beautifully with the tones of the chipboard so it was a done deal.
I took the base chipboard layer and the top chipboard layer from the Coffee Mug shaker, traced each piece onto the scrapbook paper, cut them out and fixed them into place adding distress ink to blend the edges.
I fixed in place the base layer and 2 extra chipboard layers with a good quality craft glue and then added a collection of seed beads, gold sequins and crystal chips for my shaker pieces.
I removed the plastic coating from the acrylic layer and carefully attached that to my shaker stack, and then finished my stack with the decorated top layer.
To finish off my Coffee Mug shaker, I cut a heart shape from the scrapbook paper, coupled that with some coffee stained cheesecloth and added a coffee sentiment.
I really love the end result and wanted to give the Coffee Mug shaker a home in my kitchen with all my other coffee related pieces.
I found an old tin pencil case laying in my “ I might need that one day “ craft supplies draw and thought that my assorted flavour coffee sticks could finally find a home.
I spray painted the tin in black satin paint and using the coffee themed scrapbook paper collaged a background for the top of the lid.
Once completed I fixed my Coffee Mug shaker to the front of the tin and filled it full of all my favourite coffee flavours.
Thank you so much for joining me today and thank you to the ClearScraps team for these amazing products to work with.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s project… Until next time
Happy crafting
Hugs Lynn 🙂
