Hi there everyone! Laura here today with a sweet and simple easel card that's perfect for a "thinking of you" or "cheer up" for a friend!
This bright and colorful card starts with an easel card base that is 4" by 8" which is then scored at 2" and 4". The top piece is cut to 4"x4" also.
The lighter color piece is a mat that fits on the front 4"x4" piece, so it's cut to 3&3/4" x 3&3/4. It's this lighter piece that I wanted to "punch up" a bit with a fun background, so I grabbed the Clear Scraps 5×9 Grunge Brick Stencil.
The soft gray color ink was applied using an applicator brush. It created the perfect background for the Clear Scraps Mason Jars Chipboard Embellishment.
You could use the mason jars for 2 separate projects, which is a great option. Here, I wanted to use the solid base piece and the frame. The frame was painted with black and gray acrylic paint to make a nice frame, the solid back piece was traced onto the bright patterned paper, cut out, and then glued onto this piece. The frame was then glued on the top. A twine bow was added around the top and a few word/sentiment stickers with foam tape. Then the jar was glued to the front of the card in the center of the stenciled brick background. The strip on the bottom was a few scraps of paper, a sticker and a couple of enamel dots. It's a super cute card, ready to send when a friend needs a pick me up.
There are a lot of different chipboard embellishments in the Clear Scraps Store that are great to have on hand so you can create a quick, simple card anytime! Check it out HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today!
