In today's project I am working with the ClearScraps Circle Scallop Chipboard Album.
This chipboard album is a fun size to work with measuring 8” Tall x 3" wide. The album contains 6 panel pages each featuring a cute decorative edge.
The beautiful natural wood colour of the chipboard makes a lovely base for any album project, but today I have chosen to colour each panel page with White satin spray paint.
Once my pages were dry, I used a fine grade sandpaper to lightly sand back some of the painted surfaces to give a distressed look.
To create backgrounds on each of the panel pages, I decided to use my Tim Holtz distress watercolour pencils and layering stencils to build texture and interest.
I coloured each page with watercolour pencils and went over the pencil with my water brush to create soft loose colour.
To give interest to my backgrounds, I applied some hand stamped elements and blended everything together with a light wash of white acrylic paint.
To add texture to my backgrounds I used a combination of layering stencils and textured background stamps to achieve a interesting fun and brightly coloured effect. I then finished each background with some bold hand painted numbers.
With all of my page backgrounds completed, it is now onto the decorating.
I decided to embellish the pages with a combination of some of my favourite elements ~ Tim Holtz paper dolls, butterlies, die cuts, florals and fussy cuts all mixed and matched together.
As this is my “Just For Fun” album I thought that it was a great way to combine lots of layers with fun bright colors, to give an eclectic style.
This has been a super fun mini album to create and I have had the best time creating Just for Fun. I can look back over my album in future projects for ideas and color combinations.
