Hello everyone! Laura here with you today to share a bit of patriotic decor to get you thinking about the coming 4th of July holiday!
July will be here before we know it, and wouldn't it be fun to create a great home decor piece to display on your door or on your table as a festive decoration? This one starts with two of the Clear Scraps Shiplap Shapes. The Star Shiplap Shape Medium and Large. The large was painted with white acrylic paint and the medium was painted with navy acrylic paint. To decorate the medium sized star, I also used one of the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Star. I painted the top frame red and traced the back base piece onto a star patterned paper. The layers were then glued together, with some beads being added before the acrylic layer was glued down. Next up was to used the Mini Shaker and some embellishments to decorate the blue star.
A couple of journal cards, some stickers and fussy cut rosettes were used and the mini shaker was also glued onto the Shiplap Medium Star shape. After adding a few strips of patterned paper to the Large Shiplap Star, the Medium Shiplap Star was glued onto the right side. Some twine bows and enamel dots added the finishing touch. To complete the top part of the star, a banner was fussy cut and glued across and a few more paper strips and stickers completed the project.
More twine and enamel dots in addition to some banner stickers finish off this decor piece. It's ready to go to for any patriotic holiday! These Shiplap Shapes come in many shapes and three sizes so you can use a combo like I did for this project, or just use one. Make sure to visit the store HERE to find them all!
