Flower Power Mixed Banner Chipboard Album

Hello Craft Friends!

Happy July to you! I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog to share my 1960's Flower Power album. I love the retro look and styles of the 60's! That is the theme I chose for my album today.

I'm using Clear Scraps Mixable Banner Chipboard Album Click here

and Clear Scraps 6 inch Groovy Hearts Stencil Click here

And Mini Shaker Lava Lamp Click here

The papers I chose are from Jen Hatfield Flower Child collection which match my theme perfectly!

To start our project I chose a variety of patterned papers from the 6 x 8 paper pad  to cover both the front and back covers and all inside pages. The chipboard album pages measure 6 & 1/2 inches. I did use different border strips to cover each album page. Trim off any excess paper. I also covered the Banner Chipboard piece on both sides with a floral paper and trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife. Cut between each slit on your Banner. Mark and punch all holes before adhering your papers in place. See photo:

Set your album aside for now. Remove your Stencil from your package. Using masking tape, I securely taped my Stencil onto a piece of watercolor paper. You don't want your Stencil to move while applying your ink. I chose some Tim Holtz Distress Inks Mowed Lawn, Pickled Raspberry, Scattered Straw and Spiced Marmalade. Using an ink dabber I applied each ink using a circular motion. Here's a closeup look:

Afterwards, carefully remove your tape and stencil from your paper. I trimmed away any excess paper from each edge. Then using foam tape, i adhered my Stencil image centered onto the front of my album page. I added a few flower stickers and applied some crystal gems in the center of some of the flowers on my stencil. See photo:

Page 1: I took a rainbow border piece and glued onto the top and bottom of my page. Trim off any excess paper. I cut out a 1960 Ad from a magazine in my stash and glued along the bottom edge. I added a Peace sunglass sticker towards the top right corner and Thickers numerals "68".

Page 2: I cut out this Groovy gal from a magazine Advertisement and glued at a slight angle across my page. I applied acouple stickers. Here's my finished pages:

Page 3: set aside your album and your Mini Shaker Lava Lamp piece. We will be decorating and assembling our shaker. Take the bottom shaker piece and cover with patterned paper. I chose this orange dotted/Starburst paper since I thought it resembles the inside liquid in a Lava Lamp. Using my xaco knife I trimmed away any excess paper. For the top shaker piece,

I applied some Finnibair Dragons Eye acrylic paint to the front and sides of all my shaker pieces except the acrylic piece. Let dry.

On top of my shaker piece, I applied some Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss over the paint. This gives a nice sparklely touch! Here's a photo:

Now glue the two chipboard pieces onto your bottom shaker piece. Fill with the shaker filler of your choice. Clear Scraps has a variety of different shaker fillers Click here Then peel off the protective film from both sides of your acrylic shaker piece before adhering. Add your top shaker piece and set aside until throughly dried before shaking! After your shaker has dried you can decorate as you prefer. I added a puffy rainbow sticker at the bottom and a few Dazzle flower stickers Scattered. See photo:

Now we can decorate page 3: I glued my Lava Lamp shaker onto the left side of my page. I cut out this vintage gal from a journal card and applied foam dots onto the back and adhered on the right side of my page. I added a few stickers. Here's a closeup look:
