Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! Can you believe it's August? I don't want to think about Summer ending. I know alot of you probably have alot of photos from your family vacations. So I thought today we'd create a mini album perfect to store all your favorite photos and memories. 

The album I chose is Clear Scraps 6×6 Regular Chipboard Album Click here

The paper collection I chose is Blue Fern "Life's Vignettes ". The paper have a steampunk and vintage feel so I thought they would be the perfect go to for the theme of my album and vintage photos.

This album measures 6×6 inches so I cut all of my base papers to that size. I covered the front and back cover, making sure to mark and punch all my holes before adhering my papers to each album page. I also like to Ink all my papers using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. It's one of my favorite Inks. I did also round all my edges of my papers. I recommend using Beacon glue. It's strong and perfect when using Chipboard. 

On page 7, I pieced together some scrap papers to resemble a quilt design. It's a great way to use up all your leftover scraps. See photo:

Here's how my album pages look so far: 

Set your album pages aside for now. Take your Clear Scraps Cog Gears Chipboards and cut apart from your chipboard frame. I like to save my frame for future projects. One Cog gear with holes, I covered with Ranger Distress Crackle Paste- translucent Let dry.

Next I applied some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge over the top of my chipboard Cog gear. Take the other Cog gear and apply some Finnibair Rust paste- gold and brass over top. Let dry.  See photo:

Now taking my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons in Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain I applied some Crayon over tops in scattered areas on my chipboard gear, using a waterbrush. See photo:

Front Cover: I glued a Finnibair Mechanicals gear in the center of one of my Cog gears and adhered at the bottom left edge of my front cover. I  also glued a Prima marketing Metal embellishment in the center of my Steampunk gear at the top of my page. With foam dots I adhered a set of Tim Holtz Paperdolls and Be Brave Quote chip. Here's acouple closeup photos:

Page 1 (inside front cover) I cut out a fil reel from the back cover and attached a metal brad into the hole on the center of my film reel. I applied glue on the backside only in the center, so my film reel will spin freely on my page.  Here's a photo:

Page 2: I cut a scrap paper to measure 3 & 5/8 x 4 inches and scored1/2 inch on the right side. I adhered onto the right edge to make a flip page. I glued some black velvet trim along the left edge and tied a piece of twine through the holes on my button, then glued my button on top of my velvet trim. I added a photo onto the backside of my flip page. See photos:

Page 3: I adhered a tiny paper doll onto my page using foam ddotsto add dimension and make her appear to be flying among the flowers! Here's a closeup:

Page 4: I fussycut out this image with the steampunk Gears and clock, from the cover sheet of my Bits and Bob's pack. See photo:

With foam tape, I adhered my image onto my page. I glued my other Clear Scraps Cog gear chipboard over one of the gear images, added a Prima marketing flower and blue flower from 49 and Market. I fussycut some butterfly images and glued on my page. I bent the wings slightly upward to create movement. I applied some Stickles Diamond glitter on the butterfly wings! Here's acouple photos:

Page 5: I made a pocket page using a journal card from the Bits and Bob's package. I cut my pocket to measure 5 x 3 & 3/8 inches. I adhered at the bottom of my page. I fussycut out a sentiment piece and put glue on both ends and adhered on my pocket. I cut 2 tags from the Bits and Bob's pack. I added a gem at the top of each tag. Then tucked them inside my pocket and added a paper doll. See photos:

Page 6: I took one of the paper dolls from the Snips & Snaps pack and adhered on my page using foam dots.  Here's acouple more photos:

Page 7: I just added a small photo here at the bottom. I didn't want to cover my pretty paper quilt! Here's a photo:

Now take your CS chipboard film strip and apply some Black acrylic paint. Let dry.

Then I took 3 small photos and trimmed to foot behind each window on my filmstrip. See photo example:

Now glue your filmstrip chipboard piece on the right side of your page. I glued a sentiment on the leftside of my page. The sentiment was from the Snips and Snaps pack. I also glued a small butterfly on my filmstrip. Here's a closeup:

To finish I added 3 metal rings through each hole on the side of my album pages. I tied some ribbons on each ring. And tied a butterfly charm on the middle ring! Here's a photo:
