Clear Scraps–Printer Tray–Ocean Adventures

Hello everyone!  Laura here today!  As summer winds down (where did it go?) it's always great to have a reminder of the fun it brought.  Whether a vacation, special occasion, or just a fun family time, I think the Clear Scraps Printer Trays are a perfect way to make a memento that you can display in your home.

To create this tray, the top frame was painted with red acrylic paint, and then set aside to dry.  Next the compass rose paper was glued to the solid back piece of the tray.  Then it was time to build the tray.  Each layer of the tray was glued on top.  Once that was done, I could start to decorate the tray.

Stickers and papers were layered into the tray.  Foam tape gave some depth and some torn cardstock added a "sandy beach" effect.  The stickers in the corner here, were added AFTER the acrylic layer to give even more dimension.

Here there are more stickers layered in, and also a white cardstock mat with a picture.  It's nice to give balance by putting the pictures in 3 different spots.  It keeps your eye moving around to all the different features when you're looking at the tray.

Adding little borders and center strips using scraps of paper/cardstock are a great way to ground or anchor each square.

You can create a little scene when you layer the stickers under the acrylic and on top.  It adds a lot of dimension and interest to the project.  A few enamel dots add a little fun touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope you enjoyed this printer tray project idea!   Make sure to stop back soon for more inspiration!
